Sydney Airport or the Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport lies in the Sydney suburb of Mascot. The Sydney Airport in Sydney, Australia is the major airport that serves Sydney and is also a major center for Qantas. The airport also boasts of being the oldest continually operated commercial airport in the world and Australia’s busiest commercial airport that handles more than 30 million passengers every year. Presently, Sydney Airport ranks as the world’s 33rd busiest airport. The Sydney Airport Corporation Limited (SACL) manages the airport and the present CEO is Russell Balding. The location of Sydney Airport is next to Botany Bay.

The airport has three runways that are colloquially known as two “North-South” and one “East-West” runways. But if you judge the airport in terms of land area, then it is Australia’s smallest capital city airport.
Regarding transportation to Sydney Airport, then there is nothing to worry about. Even if the airport is located in the Sydney suburb of Mascot it is easily accessible by road and also by the Airport Link underground rail line. Sydney buses run the 410 routes (Rockdale to Bondi Junction) and the 400 route (Burwood to Bondi Junction). Both of these stop at all the three Sydney airport terminals. The Domestic Terminal railway stations and the International Terminal stations are built below the respective terminals and are now a part of the Sydney’s Cityrail network. However, these train stations are privately owned and are operated and managed by the Airport Link consortium.
There are three main terminals of Sydney Airport that are referred to as T1 (colloquially the “International Terminal”), T2 (the previous “Ansett Domestic Terminal”), and T3 (the “Qantas Domestic Terminal”). The international terminal is divided from the other terminals by a runway that allows for more time for passenger connections.
It has been for long that Sydney is seeking for a second airport since 1946. But now the need has become more urgent as Sydney skies have become increasingly congested. Moreover, there are more discount airlines that prefer to perform their operations from airports with shorter turnaround times and lower cost that have come into existence. The Commonwealth took a tentative initial step by bringing most of the land required for the construction of a second airport in Sydney at Badgery's Creek lying west of Sydney. Presently, there are three proposals for the layout of the airport. All these proposals, i.e., A, B, and C, feature the terminals to be situated at the middle of the proposed three runaways.
